Problem- Looting is one of the most annoying parts of the game for me. I play a w/n and almost completly use my keyboard for all actions so moving to the mouse to pick up loot really stinks. Also it always seems I am falling behind the group when I have to run in the back to grab something if I even notice it dropped at all. Most the time I try to do a quick scan to see if something got left laying around figuring it was mine.

Wish- Anyone can pick up any loot and its randomly/evenly split through out the group just as gold is. Honestly I dont find myself paying attention to what I pick up 99% of the time.

Settle for- A keyboard command to target YOUR nearest loot and pick up with the spacebar. This way after a fight its a simple 1-2 to grab your loot. Even during a fight if you see it fall next to you it wastes very little time to grab.

Thoughts?

I love the fact that it is reserved for certain players. Because in other games the melee characters got all the good items because they were smack dab beside where it dropped. I do wish there was a quick comand that made your character pick up all items in the area. But I do hate it when a item I want drops for someone else but they just ignore it. I ask them hundreds of times "if you don't want that item, can you give it to me please?" and sometimes they do, sometimes they just ignore me. It pisses me off when they ignore me.

I agree having to pick up loot is the most annoying part of the game. Of course the game needs loot and i like the way the loot is distributed, but having to monitor what is dropped and keep looking around to make sure you havent missed and then use the mouse does sux. Especially because of the fast paced nature of the game.

Im sure arena.net could think of something to make this process less annoying.

Maybe a little white dot or something on the mini-map could mark your loot? I don't know, not a big problem, especially when you are a caster/ranger cause you usually get to see all the enemies as they drop, but as my W/Mo I have missed a few things, but usually my teammates are kind enough to remind me of them.

funny that my char is a War primary as well, maybe this problem is only for warriors.

Simple solution,

a pick up all button.

Picks up all of your loot in the imediate vicinity.

And the super-secret "ALT" button, which displays all loot and NPCs(and Allies IIRC).

I think they used to have a pick up all your loot button but they got rid of it because people were abusing it to macro.

I could be wrong though.

I don't understand, how can picking up all the stuff that belongs to you be abused? Or do you have some deeper and darker means to your words? duh duh duuuuh

Actually I think it'd be nicer if the chat log didn't spam me with everyone's drop.

I can't possibly read all the chat, drops, and target calling at the same time.
Only having my items appear on my log would make it so much easier for me to know I have a drop, instead of just spam spam and more spam.

they had a loot button in the earlier beta weekends.. then they took it off for some reason

I think its easy. Just kill monsters pick it up and go fast [=. Tell your teammates to wait lol
